Baptism 2023

On June 25, we had the joy of witnessing the baptism of three of our members, Greg, Vlad, and Oskar. It was a beautiful and moving ceremony as each of them publicly declared their faith and commitment to follow Jesus Christ.

Following the baptism, the church gathered at Danuta’s house, where the newly baptized members shared their powerful testimonies. It was inspiring to hear their stories of faith and transformation.

The day concluded with a delightful lunch, where everyone enjoyed good food, fellowship, and the warmth of our church community. It was truly a blessed day, celebrating new beginnings and the strength of our shared faith.

The Importance of Baptism

Baptism holds profound significance in the Christian faith, symbolizing several key aspects of a believer's spiritual journey:

  1. Public Declaration of Faith: Baptism is a public proclamation of a person’s faith in Jesus Christ and their commitment to follow Him. It serves as an outward expression of an inward transformation and a way to openly identify with the Christian community.

  2. Obedience to Christ's Command: Jesus Christ commanded His followers to be baptized. In Matthew 28:19, He instructed, “Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit.” By being baptized, believers are following this important directive.

  3. Symbol of New Life: Baptism represents the believer’s identification with the death, burial, and resurrection of Jesus Christ. As the person is immersed in water, it symbolizes dying to their old life of sin. Emerging from the water signifies being raised to new life in Christ.

  4. Cleansing and Forgiveness: While the physical act of baptism does not cleanse sin, it is a powerful symbol of the washing away of sins and the forgiveness granted through faith in Jesus Christ.

  5. Initiation into the Christian Community: Baptism serves as an initiation into the body of Christ, the church. It signifies a person's inclusion into the Christian family and their new identity as part of the global community of believers.

Baptism is a deeply meaningful rite that marks the beginning of a believer's new life in Christ, a step of obedience, and an embrace of their faith journey.
